MTA ACTION PLANNING GUIDE

The following questions are intended to guide trainers in using the results of the Missionary Training Assessment to begin “action planning” toward making improvements.

  1. What “YES!” successes do we want to celebrate? 
    1. What are the key contributors to this strength? 
    2. What does our pattern of “Yes!” statements tell us or what can we learn from this? 
  2. What near or “Yes” new successes can we both celebrate and build on?
    1. What does our pattern of “Yes” statements tell us?  What can we learn from this?
    2. What do we need to keep improving in this area?
    3. What are the key contributors to this strength? 
    4. Delegate or find “champions” to research, plan and implement corrective action. 
  3. What are the “Needs Work” areas of our training?
    1. List (mark or color-code) all statements with the “Needs Work”
  • Identify all “YES!” statements.
  • List all “Yes” statements.


  1. What does our pattern of “needs work” statements tell me?
  2. What do we need to do to improve in each area?
  3. Rank order the priority in which we should attack these issues. 
  4. Delegate or find “champions” to research, plan and implement corrective action. 
  5. Find “champions” to research, plan and implement corrective action.  
  6. In what areas do we desperately need “HELP!”?
    1. List 3-5 statements with the “Help!”
  1. What does our pattern of “HELP!” statements tell us?  What can we learn from this?
  1. What root problems can we identify through a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) Analysis?
  2. What do we need to do to improve in each area?
  3. Rank order the priority in which we should attack these issues.
  4. Find “champions” to research, plan and implement corrective action.
